Tomato squeezer or strainer

Have any of you ever used a tomato strainer or squeezer? I'm growing tomatoes this year. I plan to can a lot of them whole, but I also want to make sauce and paste from some of them.

This OMCAN manual model halfway down this page looks pretty stout.

Do any of you have any recommendations or experience with this unit or another one?

I bought the Deluxe Squeezo from frugal squirrel , same idea as yours, haven't used it yet, it should transform my tomato sauce proses into a snap.....no par boiling or hand seeding through my grandmothers big ole cone shaped siv......I've made a lot of spaghetti sauce with it however.

That Squeezo looks pretty nice too, but how is that handle? It looks a bit lightweight. The appliance is made out of aluminum. Somewhat pricey.

OK checked it out, it's all aluminum auger is aluminum also, strainers are stainless, and the hand crank is steel, looks like it should hold up very well. I doubt if there's that much difference between the two.

I am at work so I am unable to look at the pics. We use and Aluminium funnel looking devise it has no opening in the bottom, it has small holes all around.
and a wooden malet like devise. Put the peeled tomatoes into the funnel and run the wood malet around, and around. It make great spagetti sauce.

I've got one of those. Mine sits on a stand and has a huge wooden cone-like pestle that fits into the perforated funnel. It would be fairly easy to use, except that I want to be able to do large quantities at a time, and I don't want to have to peel my tomatoes first. That's why I'm looking for a squeezer.

That's what I was trying to describe in my post above....got it from my mother , I believe she got it from her mother, it works well but I always par boil first.......I'm hoping the squeezo is much faster and should eliminate the par boiling.

For spaghetti sauce ....try a little grape jelly ! along with your other favorite ingredients.
